Item 7 started in 2015 when Chef Tunde Adeyemi left a fine-dining kitchen in London and came home. He wanted to prove that Nigerian food deserved the same reverence as French cuisine — the same technique, the same pride, but with our own fire and identity.
The name? In Yoruba markets, item seven was always the one thing the trader kept behind the stall — the best piece, reserved for someone who truly appreciated it. That's what we serve every day.
